Get Involved

There are many ways to provide financial support and/or volunteer your time, talents, and experience to help your Alumni Association accomplish its Mission:

“Reach, serve and engage all Hillsdale alumni and their families”:

    • Serve on the Alumni Association’s Steering Committee as a Class Connector for your graduating class.
    • Serve on the Alumni Association’s Olde Knights’ Luncheon Committee.

“Provide Hillsdale High School with goodwill and support”:

    • Contribute Financial Support:  Hillsdale’s unique and award winning Small Learning Communities Program requires funding in excess of that provided by the District and State.  Join your Hillsdale High School Alumni Association and the Hillsdale High School Foundation by contributing in one of the many ways outlined to “the right”.
    • Hillsdale provides today’s Knights with a number of unique “out of the classroom” opportunities to enrich their education and prepare for life after Hillsdale.  These opportunities require the support of many in our community.  How can you help?
Support Opportunity Description Commitment
11th Grade Mock Interviews Every 11th grade student creates a resume and participates in a mock interview with a member of the community. We need volunteers to interview our students and offer constructive feedback to prepare them for their first live interview. Occurs over three days in early spring. Volunteers sign up for a minimum of four 30-minute interviews held in the cafeteria.
Internships Hillsdale is developing an internship program for our 11th and 12th grade students to bridge the worlds of school and work. We are looking for local businesses or organizations that will allow qualified Hillsdale students to intern in order to develop career skills. Flexible, depending on opportunity and student fit.
Job Shadowing Job shadowing is a part of Hillsdale’s Internship program that allows students to become familiar with career opportunities in a contained manner. From a few hours to a few days, qualified students would shadow at the work place.
Mastery Project Defenses Each 12th grade student prepares an oral defense of his or her academic work that is presented in March to a panel of judges. We are looking for mentors who will work with Seniors to help prepare them for the defense. Several hours between October and March, meeting with a student to help prepare and practice his or her defense.
Career Presentations During 12th grade Oral Defenses, community members participate in a Career Fair for 9th, 10th and 11th grade students. Around 2 hours, in March.
Prepare an interesting 20-30 minute presentation session on your career.
